General Appointment Details & Parking (info will be sent in appt confirmation email)
How long does the appointment take?
The standard yearbook appointment takes about 15–30 minutes.
Is there a fee for the standard yearbook portrait?
No, there is no cost for the standard yearbook session itself.
Do parents need to attend?
No. A parent/guardian does not need to be present; seniors are welcome to come to their session on their own. However we do require a parent/guardian email so they can be included in future communications about proofing and ordering.
Where should we park?
We have a dedicated complimentary parking lot located at 116 N. Second Street.
💡 Tip: If your student is driving themselves, we highly recommend they review our Studio Location & Parking Guide for Google Street View images and detailed directions before heading over.

Yearbook Portrait Attire & Preparation (info will be sent in appt confirmation email)
What should St. Catherine's students wear?
Clothing: A strapless top, or a top where the sleeves/straps can easily be pulled down.
Jewelry: Many students love wearing heirlooms or pearls but any jewelry of your choice is welcome.
Preparation: Please arrive with hair and makeup fully ready. We have a dressing room available for quick touch-ups or changing.
What should St. Christopher's students wear?
Clothing: A blazer or suit jacket, a collared button-up shirt, and a tie or bowtie (any color/pattern combination).
Pants/Shoes: Portraits are shot from the chest up, so formal pants and shoes are not required.
Preparation: We highly recommend arriving fully dressed with your tie already tied. A dressing room is available if you need to change before or after the session.
Proofs, Ordering, & Yearbook Selection
When and how will we receive our proofs?
Proofing galleries are sent via email on a monthly basis (for example, June appointments will receive their gallery links in early July). They will be sent to the email addresses you provide on the scheduling form. Be sure to include a parent/guardian email on the form so they receive future communications from us.
How do I select the image for the yearbook?
You must use the "Choose Yearbook Pose" feature in your gallery before the October 25 deadline.
Important: Favoriting an image or simply placing a print order does not automatically set your yearbook photo.
If you miss the deadline, the studio will select the pose for you. Changes requested after October 25 and are not guaranteed, though if approved, will incur a $40 fee
Are the proofs retouched?
The initial proofs you see are completely unretouched and cropping is approximate. However, all final images (selected for the yearbook or purchased in an order) will be professionally retouched, unless retouching is specifically declined.
Standard retouching includes: Removing blemishes, smoothing skin tone, toning down shine, removing fly-away hairs, and minimizing under-eye circles.
Not included: We do not remove freckles, birthmarks, or scars unless specifically requested in the order comments. Custom requests are $40 per pose.
St. Catherine’s students’ final images will also include the classic white vignette at the bottom of their portraits. It will sit at about the same height as a drape
Can I order prints in Black & White?
Portraits are color by default. To receive prints in black and white, you must specify the image numbers and sizes in the order comments at checkout. The website preview will not automatically save your B&W preference to the final order.
When will print orders be delivered?
Orders placed by October 25 will be delivered directly to the school before winter break.
Orders placed after October 25 will be ready around February or later and must be picked up at our studio.
Senior Lifestyle Sessions
What is a Senior Lifestyle Session?
It is a 30-minute outdoor portrait session designed to capture your student's personality against the historic backdrop of Richmond. Sessions typically take place near our Grace Street studio, though we can travel to a location of your choice for an additional fee.
How much does it cost?
There is a $50 sitting fee for the lifestyle session. Those proofs are delivered separately from your formal session, and information is available upon request.
Can I combine a Lifestyle session with the standard yearbook portrait?
Yes! You have two scheduling options:
Dual/Combined (same day): Add the lifestyle session to your senior's yearbook portrait appointment (includes time for a quick outfit change).
Separate: Schedule the lifestyle session for a completely different day. This especially makes sense if you have limited time in the early summer but want to receive your yearbook proofs asap or the desired location has a seasonal component, fall foliage, blooming flowers, etc.
How do I book, reschedule, or cancel a lifestyle session?
Book a Lifestyle Only appointment: Calendly - Lifestyle Only
Book a Dual/Combined Yearbook & Lifestyle appointment: Calendly - Combined Session
Note: If you need to change a combined booking, scroll to links at the bottom of the confirmation email to reschedule or cancel your current slot and reopen it.
